I think the following chat transcript between myself and Kevlar of Kebeol.net (and indeed Plastic-Rabbit) fame can sum this whole thing up:
Nefarius: Woot 8 minutes to go on my Auction :D I'm top bidder with a buffer of £8
Kev: What are you buying?
Nefarius: MyTV its like this box which lets you watch/record TV on a mac :D

Nefarius: I used to have a video capture card on the first mac I bought
Nefarius: and I've missed it ever since
Kev: What cables do you need?
Nefarius: Just USB
Kev: Or is it wireless?
Kev: cooool
Nefarius: indeedy
Nefarius: it normally costs £119, I was going to buy it from apple.com but I hadn't saved up enough

Nefarius: but then I got this job for doing contracts for £60
Nefarius: and I thought "Cool I'll save it towards one"

Nefarius: and then this ebay auction came up when I searched for it
Nefarius: and I was like "WOOOOOOT"
Kev: why is it so cheap?
Nefarius: Err... Probably because the auctioneer only wrote for Mac on it :D

Nefarius: my intention is to set it so that if they try and vulch it at the last minute
Nefarius: a £1 bid won't work (currently at £52)

Nefarius: then I changed it to £60
Nefarius: and now i've changed it to £62
Kev: cool
Nefarius: incase someone thinks "Ah.. I think his max proxy bid is £60 so I'll bid £61"
Nefarius: because then a) the trap closes on him and I win at £62 and the auction closes before he can stop me

Nefarius: and b) if he bids _before_ then he'll think that my limit is £70 as people normally bid in £10 increments
Nefarius: and he might get scared off

Yep, I finally have (or will have when it gets delivered) a MyTV Tuner Box for my mac! And what's more a less than half price tuner box!! £52!! I still can't believe it!

Woot! That was what I wanted for my birthday and its great that I managed to get my #1 present in the end :) (Not to take anything away from the superb home-decorated T-Shirts I got from my siblings which made my dad's absence easier to bare :) )

I spent all of wednesday sitting in the library researching for some Criminal Law paper I have to write. Its quite straightforward but its still a time eater and then I have my moot to prepare for which is on Thursday (mwahaha, take no prisoners :D)
I also have the last of the contracts for Kris to finish off and then she might want to hire me to write the company Handbook (which I entrenched in the contract as much as was possible in an effort to create what I call the "Bulletproof Company" effect) so this weekend is going to be fuuuuuntastic.
Finally I want to go and watch a film with my friends tomorrow as otherwise I won't see them for another week (2p Italy trip next weekend remember? :D).
Oh the busy week of a student hehe. Almost makes you forget that I would easily sleep for 12 hours a day if nothing stopped me :)
