Abdullah Ahmad Badawi has won a substantialy election victory in Malaysia. Why's that important? Because he relegated a hard line Islamic Fundamentalist party to a bit-part status in parliament by sustaining a moderate muslim line. His tolerant policy appears to have wrested back a lot of the support garnered by Parti Islam se-Malaysia (PAS). 3 Cheers for a forward thinking and open future.
