Back from Paris

Wow, the WiFi access in Paris was utterly laughable. The Hotel wireless was provided by pay-as-you-go Orange (no thanks) and the Venue had no WiFi at all. I had to use McDonalds and all that time was taken up passing my DS around my friends so they could make their transfers on Fantasy Premier League.com.

So I neglected to post when the first Gingerbread Latte’s hit a few weeks back, we’re in that special time of year when Starbucks has me by the balls. I’m still consuming one whenever I see a Starbucks and after a week without them in Paris I’m about ready to chug 10 in the coming week.

Since it’s past December 1st, my family is allowed to sing, listen to or just mention Christmas songs. It’s also time for me to decorate my Desktop, an annual tradition. You can see this year’s entry here. It’s just not Christmas till you hear Chris De Burgh singing about an alien visiting Earth to witness the birth of Christ..

The beauty of having a powerful graphics card is being able to run Snö at crazy speeds with no slow down. I remember this app being a total resource hog in 2001, a totally impractical novelty for anything other than slow drifting flakes not numbering more than 10. Now I’ve got a freaking blizzard of snowflakes on my desktop, dancing down from above. Simply beautiful.

Tomorrow I have a trade faire to attend in London but I ought to be able to write up some of my Paris trip when I get back

Later

John
